The paragraph below sums up what a Gen-Xer is all about...
Just like most Boomers weren't pot-smoking hippies, most Gen-Xers aren't "slackers". Most are decent, pragmatic, creative, strongly independent, self-reliant, and hard-working. We have a surprisingly good work ethic - including a strong sense of company loyalty, as long as it's reciprocal - and we want to get ahead, even though we aren't as concerned with the trappings of "success" as earlier generations were. However, we're very concerned with financial and emotional security. We're hopeful that the future will be good to us, but we're also shockingly realistic and honest about the struggles we're going to face in a rapidly changing world of diminishing resources, an elderly society, and a culture dominated by, and designed for, "Baby Boomers".
Totally what I feel.... *sigh*... you can read more details in this page called "Stephen's Generation X Site".

It is Friday afternoon 4pm but I have just been told a report needs to go out by today and the bl**dy 'source' is still revising the freaking template and formula which I still need to make updates to before sending it out. Looks like my Friday night's gonna be spent in the office instead of dinner with my ex-course mates ! :(
It is TGIF but looks like I'll have to bring work home again..
That's the life of a Gen-Xer who by this era is a slave to their jobs. The lucky Gen-Yers are still finishing off their tertiary education and trying to find their career interests and goals.
Any Gen-Yers out there? Enjoy yourselves whilst you can..

All Local Magazines love giving out freebies hoping to increase readership and circulation numbers. Her World, Style, Dare, Elle, you name it, they've done it with one of their issues. Whilst we'd all buy them gleefully, happy with the freeby, how many can honestly tell me if they do use the freeby at all?
I mean the bags, HerWorld with the coloured stripes tote bag and carry-all, furry bag and bikini by Style. Not the useables, perishables like trial size creams and lotions. TO be fair they look really nice on their own and some are of pretty good quality too.. but you won't want to use something everyone else is using would you? I call this the "Freebies Fashion".
You walk down the street and you see every other gal using the same item, it's the same effect as the "same-dress-at-prom-party" feeling albeit a little less painful since these only cost less than 10 bucks whilst prom-dresses from Daniel Yam, etc sets you back a couple of hundreds.
The only times I used these freebies was when I travel, these come in handy, no one knows where you got these stuff from.. then again your fellow Singaporean can probably spot you a mile away if you amble down the streets of Shinjuku, Tokyo in the pink shawl from Cita Bella!
Most times if anyone's a Freebie-Fashionista, it's the 'aunties' and their practical "since-it's-free-and-my-daughter-aint-using-it"... End of the Year's the time where almost all magazines are giving out freebies... and psst, Elle is giving away a multi-coloured mini-bag with Lancome trial set if you purchase it at the Roadshow at Caltex House... how do I know..? I just got mine! :P
